Well, It's dropped off a little .Got up to 76 today, sitting @ 59 right now.

 

The last time flakes fell here was in '57, unless you count the ash from the fires last year.

I am about 45 mileswest of Riverside, 20 Miles s/e of LA - just n/e of Long Beach.

I was born at March Air Force Base. My Father got transferred to the East Coast with th e C-5 planes.

 

C-5 is a cargo plane right Doug

 

Yes, right beside where Riverside raceway used to be.
March is a reserve base now and part of it is also a museum.
There is also a National Cemetery across I-15 from there.
The amount of growth in that area in the last 25 years has been staggering.
It is no longer rural, places that I used to go to hunt now have shopping malls and housing developments. But, people have to live somewhere.

 

Yeah....One of the largest. Holds 6 greyhound busses in the cargo bay. Being phased out with in the next few years though.

 

At an air show at Edwards AFB a few years ago, a C-5 was on static display for the public to walk thru. Bigazz plane. I sat inside and drank a beer! Usually only the pilots get to do that.

 

Mom and Dad said we use to live right across the street from Riverside International Raceway. Dad got transferred after I got born so I was only there about 6 weeks. Sure don't remember much.
