Hello-Trying to find the factory keyless entry code for my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport-Other threads have said its located on the computer module in the jack compartment on the 2001 explorer Sports.Mine is not.Others say its located in the dash .Does anyone know for sure-?Theres a guy on e bay thats sells the info for 15 bucks, but if he tells me to look in the jack compartment,I'm just throwing the $$ away,as its NOT in there.Help-Thanks-Dave
Got mine for 97 Sport from the guy on eBay - he said it was on the module in the front end of the access panel just above and behind the left rear wheel. If that's where your jack is, they may have relocated it on newer models.
There is another thread here about a week or so old with detailed information. I believe it was found on the back side of the interior quarter panel, or side panel on the passenger side. Do a search in this forum for more info.
Are you sure its not there? it honestly should be, but its extremely hard to see. its a white sticker that has the numbers on it, very very hard to see. i had to strain for a few minutes to get 1 number at a time, but it was there.
type in ford explorer keyless entry code on google. it will take you to wiki answers and explain where your code is found. On my 05 Eddie Bauer, the box is located behind the right rear passenger pillar. Right by the seatbelt mechanism. 01 is supposed to be where jack is stowed and article mentions you gotta put your eyeball on a stick to see it. All the instructions for setting up your keyless is also included. Here is the link http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Keyless_En..._Ford_Explorer
Copy that in to your browser and you will have the same sheet I used
If you haven't tried it yet, get hold of a dental mirror and tie it to a stick or something and look to see if there isn't a white sticker on the (I forgot the name of the module) side facing the inside of the trim panel slightly forward of the jack compartment. You will have to read it backward in the mirror, but not to hard. You will probably need a small flash lite also. They are pretty good size numbers. Another way would be to remove the entire trim panel on the driver side.
Guys-Hello-thanks,but my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport (2 DOOR)-does not have the computer module in the jack compartment.I have looked in there. It is NOT in the jack compartment.I think fors changed the locationnof the modual late in the production year-I think its behind the dash on the passenger side, but you have to remove part of the dash to look.I was at the dealer yesterday,to get a price on fixing broken door latcch(135+parts0 and asked the service guy to throw in the code,he wouldn't do it,but said he'd give me a "BREAK" and only charge me 1/2 hour labor($45) to get the code if I had the latch done.I walked out-!
