I posted this in another thread but thought it would make a nice thread of its own.
For those who dont't know here is an easy way to disable the starter. With this wire lifted off the fender mounted starter solenoid when the ignition is turned to start it is as if the battery is dead. All other electrical functions still work but the starter. It easily pulls off and pushes back on. I do this when my truck will be left out and unattended.

Excellent info! Thanks for the tip.
Now the croocks know what we disabled...LOL! It's a loosing battle on our part, but we can do what we can. If someone wants it bad enough, they will get it...
they make a kill switch just for that wire..i put one in for my ex father in law's motor home...ran the switch to under the dash on passanger side..most auto parts store have them..

Another option on 6spd trucks is to put a switch on the wiring to the clutch sensor (you have to depress the clutch to start the truck and with the switch turned off the sensor won't work).
This is what my buddy did on his truck when he moved to Pheonix, and one advantage is that all the wiring is inside the cab so the job is a little easier. Another is that the scum won't run down the batteries trying to start it

I was starting to wonder about some of the people on this thread, so I grabbed my camera and went outside to post a pic of the relay location on the 02. Came back in & looked it up on my service manual, then went back out to take the pic. Began tracing wires and have come to the conclusion there is no solenoid relay on my truck. Battery cable runs straight to the starter mounted solenoid.
That's about the conclusion I came up with too. I crawled all over my fender looking for one and then lay down in the Georgia snow to look from the bottom and still couldn't find one. The strange thing is my service cd shows one and tells you how to trouble shoot it. However it doesn't show or state a location for it. First Ford I've seen in years that didn't have one. This is how we always hot wired the '60 and '70 models when we lost the keys. If anyone knows any different chime in and let us know.
