Throttle problems, TPS maybe?
Its been doing it since i got the truck, its an 05 F250 with the 5.4. i didnt think much of it i just figured it had a light pedal and was supposed to be like that until my dad drove it and a friend of mine who is a mechanic. anyways it does this pretty much on bumpyish sort of roads, its pretty much impossible to keep the throttle steady and just sounds like the engine is loaping, but you are doing it with your foot because you cant keep steady pressure on the pedal. mechanic sais it could be the TPS (throttle position sensor) but i dont want to buy one without knowing for sure. tips?

Sounds like you are out of warranty? If not, then dealer will be best bet.
However, YES...it does sound exactly like a TPS (the new drive by wire) for the 5.4L 3v engine. Actually...if I recall...there was a TSB on this issue. Might want to do a search in the Recalls/TSBs section (see link). Your truck might be part of it. what exactly are your symptoms? I have a e250 5.4. and I hate the throttle feel. if I go over a pot-holy road, the throttle is sensitive and end up bucking down said road. I thoght thats how its sposed 2b, bcuz of the throttle by wire. and I dont know about trucks, but in these vans, the gas pedal is up reaaly high, and just kills my ankle. I attached oneof them fancy wanna-be pedal covers to extend it to the floor. so when Im just cruzing at freeway speeds, the bottom of the "ricer" pedal rests on the floor. lots better, but my commute is 66mls one way, bout 1and 1/2 hr. why did ford use this system? is there a way to hook up linkage? do you think its safe to rig my own? Im pretty handy, and over engineer things towards safety. I was thinking bout studying the linkage in my 67fairlane, and just copying that. maybe a betty solution is to get a stiffer spring.

exactly what you are describing is my problem, it just feels like its to sensitive unless you mash on it and makes the truck buck back and forth. i just got used to it and guess its just the way the peddle is.
