The truck's been running good. Seemed quieter today than it has ever been.

Where did you order all your parts from? I might do like KWIK and do the in-tank pump and keep the filter up front unless FN74 will chime in on the spin-off filter system he's using.

I bought my parts from all sorts of places in a slow buildup to the actual modding of the tank. The fuel filter and fuel pump sat on my workbench connected to each other for a month before they got installed. I also did a lot of the preparatory work like the pump electrical supply relay beforehand.

[QUOTE=99SevenPoint3]

When I got my fuel pump from napa I wanted the one in the pic above. I got a walbro gsl 392 in a carter box. I thought it was a mistake but after checking with everyother napa and carquest I found out that they had switched, why im not sure. But you might run into the same problem. The good side is that the walbro is a much better pump imo, and you will find dodge guys running them as an upgrade to there stocker. I cant seem to find the stats on the walbro, but if I do ill post.

I'm about to wear out the internet looking at doing an in-tank pump. I just did the ITP in tank kit w/ Baldwin filter and wish I did the big bad Bosch instead.

Has anyone looked into using the in-tank pump with the Baldwin filter on the positive pressure side? I worry about throwing +/- 70 PSI at it.

FYI- I did both SS HPX tube and the ITP tank kit at the same time. No question, the motor idles smoother and quieter now. However, I can hear what appears to be air in the (#8?) injector worse than ever. At 2,000 RPM under light load it is driving me crazy. The simple cure is to mash down a little on the throttle and let all he!! break loose, but that does not always go over too well around here.

Damn, I hate PMS

Kevinpmac I still have the #8 knock with a new set of Alliants installed last week (long story, should have listened to my better judgement earlier on when getting rebuilts vs new). Don't worry about it, you'll never get rid of it.

Ron, I sucked on the pump before installing it and it seemed to not allow any flow through it without it being powered up and pumping. Here's an idea: run a bypass around it with a check valve in the bypass and the you should be able to suck fuel past the stalled in-tank pump.

Is there a way to attach the pickup tube to the pump without welding it?

OK, thats kinda what I thought. This whole fuel mod stuff has me feeling kinda dumb I'm still not sure if I had all the parts that I could put it together without some sort of schematic.
