nitrous

how would a 05 and v-10 handle a 50hp shot of nitrous.

No problem at all......as long as its installed and tuned correctly. A 50hp shot on the V10 is only an extra 5hp per cylinder.

I used to run nitrous on my mustang(now its turbocharged). I can tell you from experience that a 50hp shot(especially on a super duty) won't feel like much power at all.

A 50 shot would not need any tuning, but like he said, it wouldn't feel like much.

I meant using the correct size fuel jet. You wouldn't need to have a chip burnt or anything like that.

so your saying that nitrous at 50 horse shot wont be worth the hassell. Thats is 50 extra horsepower.

Exactly, a 50HP shot is not really worth it.
Ask yourself what you want nitrous for on this truck anyway? Nitrous is ALL ON or all off. There is no benefit to be had for any practical reason, like extra help pulling a hill or something like that.

It would only WOT fun from a stop light only.

thats what I want it for, quick hits and highway runs. What would you suggest.

A custom tune to safely run a 150 shot, or a custom built turbo setup would be cool.
I started to piece one together last year, but never quite got arouond to plumbing it all together., now my plans have changed. I know first hand that the 6.0 PSD intercooler is a direct bolt in on the '05 up trucks. Thats a good start.

you sound quite conservitvie. No offense but by looking at the truck in your signature I'm supprised you got yours with a electric starter

Ha! Good one! Actually as I was first becoming accustomed to the truck I kept finding the rear going airborne on the slightest provocation. Can't imagine what good more horsepower would do me.

Besides, in truth you're probably right. As I told the salesman when he kept after me to put more options on the factory order, I'm in love with my boat, not my truck...
