big wheel offset
hi i have a 70 straight side, and i was wondering what is the widest offset wheel that can fit on this truck. i want to make it so the wheels are right to the inside of the fenders and the bed.well not close enough to rub but you get the picture. Thanks in advance.

I'll give this a shot. I just finished setting up the rearend on the '52 Chevy I'm hotrodding. I installed a S-10 diff which is quite a bit shorter than the one that came out. I wanted the same look that your after. Widest tire wheel combo that would fit inside the rear fender. Kinda Pro street without having to move the leaf springs inboard.
Jack the truck up and remove a wheel making sure the truck still sits level. Use a plumb bob to mark on the floor the possition of the, 1.) inner fender 2.) inside edge of outer fender 3.) brake drum, where stud exits and wheel flushes to.
Once theses marks have been made on the floor, subtract one inch from the fender marks and make a mark there on the floor. This will give you the total wheel width possible. Distance from distance from inside fender (minus 1") mark to brake drum will give you offset you need. The minus one inch allows for tire buldge.
Worked for me, I was able to use a 12" inch wheel on the rear of the '52 with Hooziers, only had to make 4" mini tubs inside the bed for clearance. Hope this helps.
