I got the pistons from summit....I'll look up the actual part # and post later.

how do i ID a 390 bare block? just to confirm it's a 390?

Oops...sorry.....I've been travelling a lot lately and I kinda forgot about this. At any rate....I did look up on Summit and I can't find the pistons I used now. I did find several 360 and 390 pistons that will work....all the 360 flattops were hyperuetetic ( know, not spelled right...lol) and I know I had just a cast piston I thought it was a federal Mogul piston but I'm not 100% postitive. You can also find a 390 flattop by looking for the early 390 car engines.....1960's....What you don't want is the one's with the center depression in them....hope this helps...

hmmmmm....I see your point now....LOL. well....360 pistons....guess they're truck pistons then....heck....I don't know...what I do know is that if you put 360 pistons in a 390 then you'll raise the compression ratio nicely compared to the truck 390 piston.
