Remote Wire
I have installed a line-out converter and a sub and amp. The only problem I'm running into now is where to hook up the remote wire that tells the amp to cut on and off with the key. I tried hooking it up to the black/pink wire in the stereo harness which, according to a wiring diargram I saw, was accessory. I was thinking about splicing in with the cigarette lighter but it looks like it might be some what difficult to get to. Any suggestions? I'm sure someone on here has done this.

The best place is the electric antenna wire if you have one. You could also hook it in the fuse box somewhere that is hot with the key on, but the amp will always come on when you turn the key on or in accessory. The cigarette lighter is hot all the time, so you do not want that.

Oh ok, I thought the cigarette lighter cut on and off with the key. I don't have the electric antenna so thats not going to work, I'll test spots in the fuse panel and see what I come up with.
Another question, yesterday when I had it hooked up wrong and the amp had constant power, there was still no sound come from it. How familiar are you with line-out converters? There were two brown wires which the instructions said normally are not used but if needed just to ground them both. Should I ground them?

What year vehicle are you working on? I am assuming you are hooking the line convertor to the factory radio. I am also assuming you hooked it only to the rear speaker output on the stock radio? Also what brand and model line converter are you using?
A regular cigarette lighter would not have worked, but possibly you have another that is called a "power port"?. It may be powered by the keyswitch.
