On my way home tonight I saw a Dodge with a stack coming through his hood. Do you have to custom make one or can you buy them somewhere? I also dont even think its legal to have it like that here. But I could be wrong.
I dunno if its illegal other then it would block a good portion of your view outta the windsheild if it was mounted off the turbo. Second, I dunno how you'd get the hood open without sawzallin a big hole in the hood. Is it worth it, maybe for sled pullers but for an everyday driver, doubtful. Most of the hood stacks I've seen are custom jobs.
I know in Missouri, the exhaust has to exit to the rear of the passenger compartment, so a hood stack would not be legal. All of the hood stacks I've ever seen were custom jobs...no kits that I know of.
there mostly on pro-stock pullers i know ISP won't allow it in any other class and i think u wouldn't make it driving down the street (at least in illinois) without a few cops taking notice
There is a goofball around here with a white cclb that's lifted 6" and he keeps blowing his stock turbo up, and he wants a damn hood stack. They are awesome, but only on a drag or pulling truck.
And for those who wonder how the hood goes up, the chrome portion is mounted to the hood, and a smaller pipe dumps into the inside of it from inside the hood, usually a hi-temp grommet to seal the pipe to the hood stack.
