Transfer case $$$$$
We have an 85 F600 4x4 370 5 speed Divorced transfer case The transfer case locked up. Our mechanic (far cry from Technician) said they quoted him $9000.00 for a new or rebuilt transfer case. I wave BS flag. I figure about $1500-$2500 should be more likely. Just Curious

WOW!!!! For $9000. you could put a hole new drivetrain in it,,,,lol.
Don't know much about the 85 but The T case for my truck goes for about $1200. New!
If you can get an auto tranny rebuilt for around 15 or 2000. You should have no problem getting your T case rebuilt for somewhere close to that.
