CONFIRMATION- 88 Lariat extended cab
Hello, Guys.
Well I passed up the other extended cab due to the fact that the guy wanted too much for it. You can see HERE
I was looking around and came up with this truck. I e-mailed the guy and he swears up and down the motor has about 40-45k on it but cannot back it with paperwork.
Can you guys confirm if this motor was swapped in just by looking at the bench seat in the front, no captians chairs etc. ? I'm not sure what motors came with what models.
1988 F-150 Lariat 4x4 Extended Cab
This sounds like a good deal but I wanted to confirm you guys first. Also when did Fuel Injection start with F-150's ?
Thanks in Advance.

Ah, I see you're in the greater hampton roads area
From what I've witnessed, trucks around here seem to hold there value better than most vehicles to a point. Even beaters will cost you
Anyways, I personally wouldn't buy a vehicle that someone claims to have swapped the motor and tranny for something else.
Regardless. . .it looks clean, I'd check it out for rust. Also, It's "Lift" is probably a body lift, so make sure that they are done right and the bolts are tight. Look for broken body mounts. The tires also look like they will need to be replaced soon as well. Pull up part of the carpet if you can and check for sill rust.
Point out the things you see wrong, question the swap quality and flash $1800 in cash at him. He might take $1900, and make a final offer of $2000. if he doesn't take it, offer to leave your number in case he changes his mind and thank him for his time
Then again, price can also depend some one what you want vs what you need. My 87 was what I wanted AND needed. . .so I paid a bit more

its sitting in cleveland tn, on some local little car lot.
i looked at it, beautiful truck, perfect body and interior, do not know how many miles, black, i would buy it but i want a diesel to play around with.
i don't know where you are at so it may be a bit far to be even interested in it, if you are, i can get you the phone number and some pics for you, and some more info.
