I just bought a 1998 F150 and it came with a box cover. It looks all fine and dandy, but when I go out on the grid roads, the box gets all dusted out inside. What are my options beside staying within city limits?

I have had the same experience with my camper shell. They're not airtight and that very fine dust gets in everywhere. Besides closing the windows the only option would be to seal the holes. I believe most of the dust comes in where the corners of the door meet the tailgate. From inside the cap looking out you should see daylight showing where all the air leaks are.
I just cover what needs to stay clean and then hose out the shell when I'm done.
