Unhappy core support

can i mount fenders/hood from an 86 to a 88 core support, and if not what's the difference cause from the quick glance i took they seem the same basic piece.i have a nice 86 front clip but it's from a gasser,my truck is a diesel so the rad mounts are totally different

i don't think that will work, the grill mounts are going to be different, and i'm pretty sure the headlight mounts will be different also. you could possibly "make" it work, but i'd take a lot of measurements and put them side by side to be sure.

I've got an 89 deisel (7.3L non turbo) and from what I understand, alot of things changed in 87. I always see parts listed for either 87-91 models or 86 and older. But I really can't say for sure. Don't the 86's have a more squared off hood with sharper lines?
