Probably not possible on a newer vehicle, since the whole system is tied together with everything else, and it would have to be re-programmed at the dealer. The older systems I am not sure about.
A long time ago someone asked the same question, I suggested the possiblity that if you wanted to cut the hole and mount the keypad, that you could wire your own simple system to possibly open the doors. Just wire it to were you had to hold down a combination of keypads to unlock it.
Check with your dealer, They have keyless entry kits that are stick-on and work like your keychain remote with no wiring or drilling necesary.
Only the keyless entry pads that were installed at the factory are wired through the door to the computer.
