Starter grinding problem HELP!
My starter grinds/ won't engage some times and some times it won't kick over at all, I can just here a click, click when turning the key. This all started after I pulled the trans. and replaced my clutch. never did it before. I have put a new starter in, pulled the trans again and replaced my flywheel, and my battery is new. I also tried a diff. starter relay(small round box on fender where batt. cable attaches?) What the heck elts is there to replace? I REALLY NEED SOME HELP! (working on a 2001, f350, 4x4, v10, 5speed, 120,000)

Check as redford mentioned. Clarify all connections from the battery to starter solenoid and from solenoid to starter. If you at least hear a click each time your ignition wiring should be ok. Check battery ground to block as well. Even though the cables may look fine the connections maybe bad even if they look ok remove each connection and clean. I have seen people replace every item in the starter systems when all they needed to do was clean the terminal connections.
