Hypertech Hyperpac vs. Edge Evolution

I'm looking into getting one of these two programmers for my truck. Does anyone have any opinions of either. I've read all the literature on their websites and some different articles in a couple of magazines. Thanks in advance.

Of the two I like the hyperpac... But for my money I would do a 6 pos chip and a set of gauges...

What's the advantages of a six position chip and guages over the hyperpac? Also, what guages would you need other than boost, tranny temp, and egt?

The freedom of switching between tunes on the fly and selecting some of the best tunes you can get. Your gauge question pretty much covers the minimum.

Why does everybody say DP has the best tunes? They are located in NorthCarolina and I live in MT.....their is no way that their tunes would be better than if I had a custom dyno tune hear in MT. There elevation and enviroment are totaly different that Mt's so their tunes could run like crap up here so I just dont get how they could be the best tune's for everyone......maybe the people who live around NC and any area that is at the same elevation. Just wondering..

Did I say DP? I just said the ability to switch between the best tunes on the fly no matter who you decide to put them in. Now if you asked me which ones I've liked the best so far......

If I get a set of guages does anyone have any opinions on brand? I used to have autometer guages in an old Jeep I had and had good luck with them.

Tadd at Elite Diesel (in colorado, about 6600 feet) is my tuner, but any of them can adjust for altitude. Jody has people running his tunes all over the country, with no complants.

Hypertech is in Tennessee and Edge is in UT- do you think either of those company's tunes are going to be better than someone in NC that specializes in PSD tuning? The tunes are ALL based upone your other sensors doing their respective jobs, feeding those inputs in to the computer, and then tweaking them. Jody is a specialist, and a wicked good one. You are right though, getting your truck tuned on a dyno in MT would be a good idea.

I'm not trying to slam you at all, just realize that most of us don't live near the companies that make the parts for our trucks.
