I have a 2002 Expy with 79,000 miles. Recently it has been blowing somewhite/bluesmoke (sometimes a little andsometimes a lot)on startup. I use Mobil1 5-20 Synthetic. Also, the truck has stalled twice, both times the truck was just cruising along. The fuel filter was replaced at 50K and I take care of the truck pretty well. No codes are passed during the OBD-II test also. Anyone have any similar circumstances. I dont want to go to the dealer and pay a fourtune for a wild goose chase. Thanks

No compression test yet. The smoke only occurs on start up and not all the time. I would lean towards leaky valve seals, butI do think it may be messing with a sensor or two. The truck will idle at 500-600 RPM with the A/Con and in drive. Cut off the A/C and the idle returns to the 600-700 RPm range. Put the A/C back on and it will drop low and hunt until it stabilizes within the 500-600 RPM range. I figured, if I lose a sensor it would show up on the scanner, but no codes have been flaged. Someone said it might be the EGR valve. Is that located on the side of the intake plenum? I'm hoping what ever is causing the issue will fail hard so a code will pop up. Meanwhile, I'm going to replace my fuel filter just in case my wife got some dirty gas or the filter failed internally.
