Ok so instead of cutting down my frame in my 89, I found a shortbox frame for really cheap down here. Only problem is, I dont ahve my trailer down here to go get it! So I have a shortbox truck, with approx 6 feet, 2 extra feet of length with the tailgate down, and Im not quite sure how I would get the frame strapped in there so it wouldnt come loose. The frame itself is approx 5 feet wide, and 16 or so feet long.
Use a sawzal/zip cut and very carefully/accurately cut the frame in half so it can easily be welded back up.
May not be the best way but one that may work....
Cutting the frame might have to work. Ryan thats an excellent idea, but I dont have a spare rear end kicking around to throw into it, otherwise I would do that. And sherm, I dont think the frame would sit quite like that box did lol.
It might sit.... until you hit your first overpass.
right...hahaha... ...there's a big OOPS. but you could put it the other way, then its only 5 feet high, sticks out a bit, but that's what flags are for...
As much as I thought about it I think Im gonna have to let it go, and not get it, Seems to be too much of a hassle to bring it back on that long of a drive, thanks for the ideas though guys, its appreciated!
