hard start

I have a 79 f350 with a 300 I6. I have a problem starting it every morning I have to pump the gas between 20-30 times. I adjusted the choke acording to 2 diffrent books and it starts well in the morning but as soon as the truck warms up it cuts out and starts missing like its not getting enough fuel. Im stumped, I have changed the thermostat that controls the choke but it dosnt make a diffrence I do have power going to it also. Any help would be apricated

With carburetor you are dealing with one of the most variable thing on the engine

Necessary adjustments within specs:

Choke spring slipped over actuating arm on housing
Fast idle / choke index correct
butterfly adjustment correct
Is engine vacuum system sealed
acclerator pump lever / rod indexed to proper hole
Good fresh fuel
Clean fuel filter
Float setting correct

thanks, I am going to end up getting a new carb though, I had problems starting when warm like it was getting no fuel at all it was shut off for 5 minuets. I check and had good fuel pressure so it wasnt the pump and had good spark. It would only start after pumping the fuel pedal like I do in the mornings when its cold
