Engine Mount location

Sorry if this was posted in the past, I searched and could not find the answer.

I have a 67 f100 240ci 6 cyc. that I want to replace with a 302 v8.

I have the correct towers from a v8 truck and am confused as to where exactly to mount them. I believe the towers have to move back and there maybe holes to mount them. Can someone give me measurements or what holes to use.

Thanks,

Mike

I don't know about a 67, but when I did this to my 82 it was simply a matter of swapping the motor mount stands (or towers)and mounts. The stands went into the exact same holes on my crossmember. If no one else chimes in with better info, good luck!

I don't think the 302 was available in 67, but that doesn't mean that the correct frame stands won't work.

I changed a 300 6 cyl. truck over to a 460 and the mounts had to move forward. I think the mounts for the small block stay toward the back, but I am not absolutely positive.

You can't directly use the 6 cylinder perches with a 302. The perches sit at different angles and at different heights.

Of course you can make the 300 mounts work, but it won't be a direct bolt up and may take some cutting, drilling, and welding.

Best bet is to find a set of mounts from a 67-79 4x2 or 4x4, whichever your truck is, that had a 302. (look in 69 and up 4x2 f-100's) I honestly don't know if any 4x4's in that era got the 302. . .
