Auto trans learning?
Well my manual says my Excursion has an automatic transmission learning feature. It says it takes 250 miles after the battery has been disconnected to fully program. Well I had my battery disconnected for 6 hours today and when I drove off after reconnecting it I did not notice anything different about the transmission. It shifts the same way it did before. So what does this auto trans learning do?

It learns how long each shift takes, from when the computer tells the trans to shift until it has completed the shift. If the shift takes too long it learns to add a bit more pressure the next time that shift happens, if it shifts too quick it learns to remove a bit of pressure next time.
