4.9/300 computer module

Hello People.

Does anyone know if the factory propane version of the 4.9/300 (VIN Code 9)came with a different computer than the gasoline 4.9/300?

Thoughts?

Yes it should, the gas only ecm has a different calibration and will not be able to calculate stoich with propane as well. I don't know about the dual fuel ecms work, but the ECM must be able to trim fuel correctly or you could end up with serious engine problems.

I would even expect different hardware, pinouts or sensor for the dual fuel. There are some websites out there about converting to propane, I imagine they will go into detail about air fuel ratio differences.

Thanks, Any thoughts as to how I would go about figuring out if I've got the right computer in there (Propane only VS Gas Only)?? The van's got 500000km (300000miles) on it, and I've got no clue who did what and when where...

It should be in the calibration code. If you can get to the ECM, there is a 3 or 4 digit code that is the calibration. From there, you will have to google the calibration code to see what info exist on it.
