Spring Rubber?

I was at Pep Boys and saw a coil spring rubber thing to raise the height of the truck, Do these work? And how tall can I expect? 1" - 1.5" - 2" ?

The Rubber thing looks like a round doughnut with a split in it.

If your truck is saging a little . And believe me if the coils have never been replaced its sagging . Swap in new coils I average 1-2" from old to new.. I find the rubber spacers are just a quick fix . All the product are different heights. They do have 2" lift coils kits that lift without all bracket swaps off taller lifts. Good luck

I tried those for once because one side was worse than the other. They also give an incredible harsh ride, becuase the spring does not spring as much.

Well the truck DOES have 260,000 + miles on it. It is strickly a simple fix because I'm thinking of getting new springs, BUT,,, 260,000 miles. But ride right now is not an issue, I just want to get the truck's I-Beams to level out a little.

if you want them to level out the right way, get new springs. They're not that expensive all things considered ($99.00 at www.broncograveyard.com), and they will be a lot better and more reliable than those rubber spacers that will eventually break down and sag like all the other rubber bushings on that truck.

Are they hard to change out?
I looked and they don't look too hard, but was wondering about the torque when the installation starts.
O'Reilly has them for $79.00 with their "IN HOUSE" brand.
AutoZone has them for $104.00
I have not had a chance to check NAPA yet.

BTW, My Chilton's book has such a SMALL diagram, IT AINT FUNNY!

Those spacers take up load on part of the coils, which adds load to the unsupported portions. If the truck is used hard, it could lead to a coil breaking. New springs are the way to go. If you ever need to use a spacer to level the truck, use something that goes under the spring.

on my 81 it was real simple. loosen the nut at the bottome, reomve the retainer and u think there was something on top. but i remember it tok like 1 and /2 hours total. including a beer run and jackin up the truck. i was poor and got some 3/4 ton 2wd springs at the bone yard. it almost leveled the truck. when i first got it it had th blocks in there and was poor ride.

Well I had a chance to look at the front end. It looks like I take the Retainer bolt at the bottom, and the clip at the top. I looked at my Chilton's manual again with a magnifying glass(HA-HA,GAG!) and it seems simple. NAPA had the best deal with a name brand I know of.(SPICER)
