Sorry I can't help. I'm headed down to Charleston, SC next week for work. I hope to hear that the build went well. I should be back in VA in 3-4 weeks. If you're still building the engine, I'll cruise up & throw my .02 in.

Ok, I have $560 to get the kit and rebuild my 302 EFI. Decided to go with a towing cam to get better gas mileage/lower end towing capacity when towing(Yeah right not at $3.15 a gl and increasing) I have had my block bored and honed to 30 over, everything cleaned, w/ new freeze plugs and all. My towing cam was $80 more, thats not expensive at all. So now I can have the power I need when towing and the power when driving too. I think I have made a wise choice in my selection, and have taken my time to see what I might need as far as small upgrades to help in a newer type engine. I will keep it EFI and reuse the FI manifold on my truck now to bolt right to the intake. Easy peasy! Simple yet Ford Tough! Shes on her way to higher dollar bracket after she gets a engine make-over, because then I can finish with the cosmetic side of things, such as the interior and the paint! Metallic candy blue will look nice with a gray interior/ new engine and a 3 inch lift. Later I may lift her 2 more inches in suspension. Only time will tell. She'll be a beaut!

There.....This bad boy should be together in a few weeks. then I can set a weekend and work on her, then by the beginning of the next week I will be able to hear her roar. I'm thinking about headman headers for her. The ceramic coated type. I think chrome will be a little much. Over two hundred just for headers. My bank is not stacked now, and I think it shows because I drive an old truck. 165 or so is good enough for me. I ordered some headman headers for my old 67 mustang I used to have. Now my mother has it with a rebuild 289 and some nice sounds to her. The only problem is after she got it the transmission messed up. That sucks. You know that color that looks like pea green, ugly. I think she is going with black interior and cherry red. She has had it for years now, and nothing has changed. I would love to put her on overhaulin!

Word!!

You finally got it all figured out, eh? Wish I could have been more help on the building end. . .this should be the final weekend for stuffing crap into my garage, then it becomes a waiting game until my dad gets his place together

For headers, definately go for ceramic coated. . .the chrome looks tight but will quickly discolor, and may even burn off if its a cheapy job. Ceramic is forever

I'm going to look at a 4 speed/460 F250 tomorrow, so be thankful of what ever gas mileage you get in your truck If your ever feeling adventurous, you might spend the $$$ down the road and convert to MASS AIR and sequential EFI and really tune your motor to run top notch! Will even take your cam mod better than speed density

Keep us updated!

Need to finish painting my frame. Primer is set and silver is the new color to make it stand out a little. We'll see what happens?
