Hello! I'm Jon from Woodford, Va. I found this forum while looking for instructions on how to do a DS-II conversion on my new to me 86 F150 with a I6. She was sitting for a while and not running but has a good body so I got her pretty cheap on Craigslist. A friend and I have already got her running but the carb is in pretty rough shape hence the conversion.

Thunder Downunder
Hi all
I have just joined this site as I have not long ago imported a 1965 352 F100 over her in Australia. I am about to put a 460 with a C6 combo into it and thought I would have a snoop around in here as I'm sure I will need some help with advice from you knowledgeable guys and girls.
I am currently still getting together the remainder of my parts ready for the swap. I will keep you all posted
Thanks
Dan

NEW MEMBER - JIM GRINDSTAFF, VIRGINIA BEACH
Good afternoon. My name is Jim Grindstaff. I bought my F-150 new back in 1991 (4.9 L engine, full-size bed). It has been a great truck for many camping trips, helping friends move (amazing how many friends move when you buy a truck), 4 years in Panama, and many kayaking trips. Currently, it has about 96,K miles on it.
Other than a starter that burned out when the solenoid stuck and my wife just ignored the noise, I really have not had any big issues. I have noted the problem with the fuel recirc going to the stand-by tank and I bought two new fuel assemblies (just haven't had time to install yet).
I posted a new thread about needing an EFI wiring harness to get it back on the road. Please take a look at it and let me know if you have any suggestions on where to find one.
I am retired Navy--still working as a civilian though. Just moved out near Pungo.

Jim, welcome from a Marine, and thank you for your service. Since you are in VB, try Pick-n-Pull, I am pretty sure I saw an EFI 4.9L in there last Sunday when I was over there. When you are scaring up parts, there was a Ford recall in the early to mid 90s for the fuel recirc problem, it involved putting an outlet check valve on each pump module.

Bill,
I worked with a lot of Marines over the years. Aside from good-natured ribbing and some extreme practical jokes, we usually got along (except when we drove our trucks on the lawn down in LeJeune one time--you would have thought we had desecrated Chesty Puller's grave).
The recall on the recirc issue expired. After researching, I found that the recall fix was not a great fix (except that it was free, once upon a time). The new fuel modules I have are complete with the check valves installed.
I was at pick n pull last week (or the week prior) and got the EFI harness, but it wasn't the same year and there were three things that were not a simple plug-and-play. So, the guy at Art Walker's garage says it won't work and I am back to square #1. I checked the inventory yesterday and there are two--one 1989 and one 1992 F-150s at P&Pull. I just hope one of them is a 6-cylinder engine. Going to go there in about an hour to see.
Thanks for the welcome aboard message. Good to see a Marine that knows how to write :-)
