Ford Recall vs Programmer

I have a 2005, F250, 6.0 Lariat, Fx4. I have been considering the purchase of a power programmer. I have not yet completed the recall re-flash, 05E16 Engine Control Recalibration. How will the recall re-flash affect the programmer? Should I install the programmer before or after the recall re-flash? Should I not have the re-flash done? If I bring my truck into the dealership for other warranty work, can I tell them not to perform the recall re-flash? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Never have your truck flashed unless any power programs have been uninstalled. You will not be able to reload the program with most of them if it gets flashed over. You will have to send it back to be unlocked.

Super08 is right about some of the canned programs/tuners...

but the SCT XCal2(and some others) allow you do download updates...

either way is ok with the xCal2 but for sure disconnect - unload - return to stock before bringng it in for warranty work - why I keep mine in the truck
