brake switch code 74

EFI 351W, 1990

I get code 74 brake switch not activated when running Kon Engine Running test with my ford code reader. (no code with keyon engine off) I did press the brake when running when the display said 8 so thats not a problem. And I hooked up a breakout box and the voltage never changes for the pinout(2) when brake is pressed so I guess it doesnt work.
How come the brake lights still work though?

Where is the brake switch located and its it hard to change myself.
Thanks

The E40D is controlled by a PCM. The PCM gets info from the tach, speed sensor, throttle position sensor and brake switch. The brake switch unlocks the converter, therefore a faulty bulb or wire for the signals or brake light will cause the converter to act up.

This could explain the answer to my other post where it feels like my torque convertor doest ever lock up since the rpms are high at highway speed and my breakout box tells me the torque convertor aint locking up
