Power mirror problem

The mirrors on my truck don't work right. If I try to adjust up or down, they also move in or out. Same goes for in and out, they move up or down. Can the be fixed or should I look for different mirrors?

I replaced my switch when it started doing the same thing. Easy fix and pretty cheap, as I recall.

It has started malfunctioning again after less then a year. The only thing I can come up with is that water has gotten in the switch and ruined it. That's a bummer because I like having my windows down, even just alittle bit, and sometimes water may drip in and it certainly seems to go straight for the switch each time. I'm just glad the windows still work correctly.

I'll be getting a new switch but I kind of wonder if there's some trick to it...

The switch is probably toast. I had the same issue. The part is $20 from the dealer. Just pop off the window/mirror switch panel and pop out the old switch after you unplug it. Very easy to do.

Mine does that, but seems like the mirror gear is stripped. Did your mirror seem to kinda act that way too. That would be an easy and cheap fix.

It is probably the switch. Mine was doing that exact same thing when I picked the truck up new from the dealer. A new switch fixed mine.

spray the switch With silicon spray When you know it is wet. it will displace the water. I also sealed plug with white lithium. 5 years no problems.

And there's the trick! Now we know, and knowing is half the battle.

Thanks guys, sounds a lot easier and cheaper than replacing the mirrors.
