Speedo pointer removal

I've got a couple of speedos that I'd like to combine into one good one for my 50 F1. One works great but has a rusty dial, the other is broken but has a great dial. In order to swap the parts, I need to remove the pointer with out breaking it or the shaft. The speedo shops must have a way to do this. Anybody know how it's done? Can you point me to a source for the info? I know I could just take it to a shop and pay the long dollar to have them do it, but that's just not how I am.

Speedo pointer removal

If the one with the rusty needle works fine I would carefully sand it and paint it with a small brush. You don't want to ruin the calibration if its correct.
