Please recommend a good chassis to put under an original 55 body, this will be a hotrod project but I want to do most of the work myself and have little experience. Thanks.

Brett, the best chassis is the one it's on. You are better off to improve the 55 chassis by updating the suspension, brakes, and steering using an aftermarket Mustang II crossmember. Other options are the Chrysler K-member (Volare), or Camaro/Nova clip. The Mustang is the easiest, the Volare next, and the Camaro the most difficult of the three. Since you have little experience, the Mustang II route would be the way to go. Although complete frame swaps are becoming more common place, it takes a lot of welding experience and fabrication to accomplish them.

Brett

I agree with Vern. If your experience is limited, stay with your F100 frame. You can make it drive like a car with the proper mods. Unless you have deep pockets and can buy a true custom bolt on frame made for your truck. Taking a chassis from a donor car is not a good first project in my opinion.
