help with keyless??
Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew what was up with the keyless in my '02 PSD with remote start. I went to the stealership to order a new "clicker" and got it with no instructions.... I took my original one swimming.... bad idea! The new one came with nothing but a quick install detail from my stealer. I was to turn the truck on and off 8 times within 10 seconds....then push both buttons on the clickers to acquire the new one to the system. Tried that one, failed brought it to the stealer and they un-loaded the keypad # (needed that one anyway) for me and tried to load in the new "clicker"..... still no working....
I got a quick install sheet from the mechanic it is dated '05 and tried to load it at home..... the truck is supposed to honk at me when it is ready (sort of like my wife) and then honk 3 times when it has accepted the new one (un-like my wife).
My remote start feature and locks and un-locks work with the old remote, sometimes they won't but I assumed it was due to my swimming.
Any ideas where to go next..... did manage to program my keypad to my new # thanks to you guys!

I believe the keyless and the remote start systems are independant. I imagine that your are, like me, only using the start keyfob. That key fob has not been programmed into the remote start brain. I don't know the procedure to program the brain of the remote start, but most all remote starts will have a little red button on the case that you will use to get into program mode.

Hi ReAX, I was not sure what the little red button did but I will need to find some info from ford? or somewhere to try to program the fob to the truck.... wonder if there is some archived info sheet on it somewhere?
