propane powered 300cid with a granny geared 4 speed manual and 4:56's would be killer in 4-low and 1st. Could climb a will with traction.

I am running a mildly warmed over 300 six in my 84 F150. It has been punched .040 over, RV cam, hv oil pump, Holley 350 2bbl, Offy DP intake, Headers, MSD coil... good wires good plugs. I am running an NP435 4 speed with a NP208 xcase behind it. I put 4.10 gears in the axles with a Powertrax locker in the rear and a Trac Lok lsd up front. The truck has a 4" suspension lift with 33x12.50 Mud Kings on stock 7.5" wide alloys. Put it this way... the damn truck will pull anything you hook to it and and drag it where ever you want to go with it. As far as 4 wheeling goes... it goes anywhere my buddies trucks with V8s can go (mud, sand, snow... whatever), then pulls there sorry stuck broken butts home! So there! I have always liked the injected 300s, they seem to run a bit smoother and feel peppier than the carbed (stock) versions. I love my 300/ 4spd combo because I can chug along at 500 rpm (idles at 800) and still have plenty of torque. I can take off from a dead stop in 3rd gear with little to no trouble. It would probably climb a wall if I let it in granny/4low! They really don't make much for hp but the torque is what really makes the 300s shine!

ive had my 94 with the six in all different conditions and its always surprised me. definately shines when it comes to pullin and climbin, and loves to be beaten! my only complaint is the m50d slushbox but thats a diff story...anyways the six has been a great truck motor for me. wheeled with all my buddies, and of course all bigger v8s, and bigger tires (before i had the 77). i was the one who always pulled em out. one point we were all stuck, all we had was a comealong, and i heard everyone at once say, we gotta get jason out lol. but like said before it just doesnt have the hp to get them flingin, but plenty of torque. pics in the gallery of 300 wheelin.

ps: whoever said 4lo 2nd, i second that. not to mention that was the sweet spot for me in the sand dunes, just rocked.

This is the best truck for the bush that I have ever driven, even better then all the fords, chevs, dodges, and toyotas that I drive for work.

With 4.56 gears and 35's you can do alot of things. The crawl is unbelivable. I have come up to rocks in 2 hi, come to a dead stop against them, and before I could put my foot on the clutch, the truck grunted over it. My huntin buddy could not beleive it. He thought we were going to stall for sure. And that is with the Spazda tranny.

And I still get 16 mpg, up hill, down hill, side hill, tail wind, ect, ect.

I can go on all night. If you don't want to go fast on the highway the 300 is for you. Mine is NOT for sale

Mine is not for sale either! In fact I found another one for 100 bucks with a C6 behind it from an E150 van, I am probably gonna grab it up here pretty soon. No body around here likes 300 Fords for some reason... the frustrating thing is the ones who hate em never owned one!

Like I always say, the 300 is good for what it is designed for. Alot of people want to go fast, and the 300 is not for them. I move slow like a buffalo, so the 300 is perfect for me

I am very happy with mine, it does some extraordinary things when it comes to pulling and dragging things around. I am an inline six fan till the end, but I will be putting a 460 in my 77 High Boy.

I lied. I would sell mine in a heartbeat for a 77 crew cab hi-boy. That is my dream truck.

theres a 2wd cc/sb F250 or 350 for sale in the PG bargain finder. Its been in there almost a year, they want $600, I think its 77 or 78. My dad, In granisle has a 83-77 cab and chassis of a 2wd F350 cc/sb....The cab isnt the greatest, I dont know about the one in vanderhoof. Theres also one I saw sitting in a farmers field in Hudsons hope.

Thanks for the point in the right direction pud. For me 4x4 would be a must. When I was down in Chilliwack this summer I took a tour with the hopes of finding one sitting in a farmers field as well.

on those old trucks its an easy swap. Even with the frame just to start with. When I was a young lad my dad had a 78 F250 cc/sb 4x4. It was his toy. When they bought one of their places in Granisle the PO left a few trucks on the lot, and one happened to be the cab and chassis of a cc/sb of the 70s vintage. He doesnt have any real ambition to doing anything with it.
