Warning Fire Potential

Sure you all know this but might remind your wives and daughters now that it is getting cold. When filling gas tank if you get back in your vehicle while pumping gas make sure to touch the body metal when you get out, somewhere other than near the gas tank, before removing the nozzle from the gas tank. When you slide over the seat material builds static electricity, touching fuel nozzle causes discharge, might ignite vapors. Heard of this happening again in Austin area. Also when filling fuel containers take them out of the bed of the ole F-1, set them on ground, fill, then put back in vehicle, even diesel. Same deal, static electricity. Just a reminder. This is not an urban legend. FYI.

BELM,

I would like to append your message if you don't mind... while fueling NEVER stand over the gas filler opening nor lean over a gas can. If the fuel "flashes", then you are directly over it and will be sprayed with fuel and will be on fire! Always stand to the side while fueling!
