Ok i have a serious problem on my 1987 f-150. I bought the truck from a friend who killed the motor 4x4 in a deep puddle. So i bought it and replaced the motor. When he towed it to my house he lost the key so we had to break the ingnition to unlock the steering wheel i replaced the whole column instead of just the ignition. so heres my problem
I turn on my headlight switch and have no parking lights at all in front, but i do i have turn signals in front, in the rear i have running lights but no turn signals until i hold the brake.
when the headlight switch is off i have no turn signals in the but i do have brake lights. My hazards work fine also.....
what could cause this problem all the fuses are fine and bulbs are fine also?? Please help my only transportation and i cant afford a ticket
I'm not sure about 87's, but earlier Fords ran all the brake/stop and turnsignal lighting through the turn signal switch. A faulty or mis wired switch could screw up how the lights worked.
Since you replaced the column, I would suspect this first.
Investigate if your truck uses a similar wiring diagram as the earlier Fords.
