Shell/Topper lock

My A.R.E. shell door won't latch, so it won't lock. I think the sides have spread apart. Anyone know how to really lock the door?

Let me re-phrase. Besides the obvious notion to loosen the clamps, scoot the shell sides together, and retighten the clamps. It seems to me all one has to do to break into a locked shell is to pry the sides from the door. How do those with caps keep items in the bed secure? I'm interested in an aftermarket lock I think.
