No Reverse
I purchased a 1990 F250 4x4 with a E40D tranny. The truck has been sitting for several years. Prior to sitting the tranny worked fine, now I have no reverse.Ichecked the fluid, it was fine ,I added tranny additives. but nothing has woked. Is there anything I can do before I consider it a rebuild canidate?

If the truck has been sitting, then it's possible that you may have a hung up valve. You may want to drop the pan before you go any farther. If it has metal in it then you may be on your way to a rebuild. If it's clean, then you may want to try changing the fluid. New fluid is full of detergent and will help clean up the trans.
