Ignition Control Module Location

I need some suggestions on mounting the ignition control module box on my 55 F-100. I don't want to mount it on the firewall because I am trying to keep that whole area clean. I was thinking about mounting it on the inside of the cab under the dash behind the passenger side kick panel. Would this work or does the module box need to get some ventilation to it? Suggestions would be apprecaited.

Thanks,
Charlie

Most ignition modules are fairly temperature and vibration sensitive , but you can mount them about anywhere. I mounted my MSD box on the passenger side fender apron fairly high up and beside the coil. They are close to the 351W distributor. I used rubber isolation mounts so the ignition module would get some air under it as well as around it. I don't have any recent progress photos to post in my gallery. I haven't been able to update it since moving from a DSL location to a strictly dial up neighborhood.

Ranger Pat, I thought about mounting it to the inner fender panel as you mentioned, but I think that I want to keep the inner fender panels clean as well as the firewall. Could I mount it on the engine side of the passenger air deflector?

Wherever you mount it, make sure it is away from heat and can get some air circulating around it. I mounted my MSD-6A on the passenger inner fender panel. I wanted to keep my firewall clean as well. I would have to say that the most common place I see them mounted on hot rods (32's and such), is right on the firewall, up high and right in the middle. I saw alot of street rods at the Goodguys show I went to this summer, and there were alot of guys that had theirs mounted right there.
