OKay, just finished changing the oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter. Still running rough. It doesn't show on the tach but it does have a good rap to it. When driving it down the road it stuttersat anything below 2000 rpm and doesn't have any power. It will get up to 70 or so but it takes a while.

Well I have an appointment to take it to the local diesel shop to scan for codes and see what they think. I haven't been able to figure out what else it could be since I don't have a scanner that will work on this truck. I'm suspecting the IPR or the HPOP but am unsure. So unless anyone has any other ideas it will be going to the shop on Monday. Thanks for all of your help guys.

1997F-350, I would run up there to meet you but have a bunch of stuff going on this weekend. Thanks anyway.

1997F-350, No I don't have a laptop or I would take you up on it. I do have a buddy here a couple blocks away that does though.

every test under the sun:

glow plugs
pcm and sensor test forget what its called
buzz test
cyl cont test
and a couple more

plus it records real time data also displays every output from everything on your truck.

i can give you a crash course over the phone to figure out what it is you need to use on it to see whats wrong with the truck.

can mail tomorrow and call on tuesday when you get it?

What time do you leave on Wednesday? Early Morning? I'll let you know Monday what I'm going to do. Is that cool? I really appreciate your help. I made that appointment so I'll see what they come up with and then let you know Monday.
Thanks Man!

Cool k what kind of code readers can i get and where

k mine is still down at the moment and wondering where i can get a code reader at and how much does some cost though, and would a superchips reprogrammer help any or not, just curious. my truck is still idling rough and no power at all, its bad enough i have to start off in 1st to get anything out of it to take off. i try second and have to pop the clutch basically with about half throttle though. injectors are oiling, changed the wiring harnesses on that side and glow plugs, got a new fuel pump but havent put it on yet. turbo is fine though and works good no free play in it in any direction. what else is there to try other than the ipr and icp, unplugging the icp didnt make any difference havent checked the ipr or idm yet though. changed the fuel filter, oil and oil filter here in the last two weeks and still didnt make any difference. its been sittin in the driveway going on 2 months now. where can i get an ipr? can u replace the idm or not? so what else could it be, idles rough and runs rough cant get any more than 55 maybe 70 when u drop off a hill, but lose it as soon as u start climbing any size of hill, its not the cps that i do know. so guys what can it be, i hope someone can tell me otherwise its fixing to get traded like it is.... Lance

Well, just got off the phone with the repair shop. They had the injectors tested and say there are six injectors "wore out". I find this hard to believe. I don't think it would run if there were that many bad. Anyway, told them to put the injectors back in and I will figure something else to do. They wanted $3500 to replace all the injectors and the shop who tested them repair them! That is stupid. Anyway, thanks for all of your help. I now have to figure out what to do that won't cost so much. Good thing I have three trucks.

mark did they pull the injectors out?
the only way to tell if they are wore out is if they actually disassembled them. my offer still stands but i am gone. i will be home next month. a lot cheaper places to get injectors than that. even remans are 119.00 so that would only be a little over a grand.
