I ordered new Dennis Carpenter ***** (All 7) for my '55. They came today. The headlight **** stem, is some 3/4" longer than the one I pulled out. I checked the bag, it said 1953-55. Did I pull out some other years **** assembly?

Fixed it. I cut off the offending 3/4" with my Dremel cutoff wheel, pointed the end of the shaft with grinding wheel, and re-placed the locking slot with the cutoff wheel. They look great!
