Replacing harness
I have a 82 250 with a 400 and a 87 150 with a 300 fuel injection. I plan on putting the 300 in the 82. I plan on putting the wiring harness from the 87 in the 82. Has anyone done this that can give me some tips? Will the 87 wiring harness work with the 82 instrument panel or do I need to put in the panel from the 87?

I know the ignition switch will not work. Take a look at the number of spots on the big plug that goes into each instrument cluster. If there are a different number of wires(I think there are, but I am going from memory), then the cluster will not interchange.
Is there any way we can talk you out of this? Sounds like a lot of work.
