Grader Pullin
Had a little fun yesterday. Last week, my father-in-law bought an older Caterpillar roadgrader. Once he got it home he found out the pony motor wouldn't start, so he couldn't get the main motor started. So, he asked me if I would give him a hand, and drive his big 4 wheel drive, dual tired, Case tractor and give him a pull. I said I would give him a hand, but I'd just use the 2000 X, 7.3 PSD, to pull him. He said there was no way I would be able to pull that grader, we would end up having to use the tractor. HA! Hooked up a good stout chain, didn't even use 4 low, stayed in high range, slapped it down on low 1, never spun a tire, even when he popped the clutch. Grader fired up in about 5 feet. After he got it moved and reparked, I told him I didn't even know he was back there, I thought the chain had fallen off. Now that's some fun stuff, I don't care who you are.
