Engine No-Start condition

Engine No-Start condition

Whoops ! I thought I was in the super duty forum...too many windows open.

I'll have someone move this.

I'm trying to help a guy with a 2003 F250 with a no start condition from a shorted wire in a 16 pin harness under the hood fender mount.

This connector is 3rd from the front in the group of 4 lined up together.

There is no harness label or connector ident number to go by.

With this connector attached the truck won't start and run.

With the connector removed the engine will start and run.

We can't locate which one of the 16 wires has a short but we do know there was wild cluster gauges activity before this condition prevailed.

It keeps blowing Fuse #46

Any thoughts/opinions would be gratefully received ?

some of the wiring is different between the 2
fuse 46 is a headlight lowbeam circuit.

HMMM! why would this not alow a no start ,part of a day time running light

just thinking out loud
I'll go for further review of manuals .

After more information retrieval.

It seems it is part of the braking circuit vs other circuits.

This truck pulls a trailer most of the time.

Presently the trailer is unhooked.

It appears No Trailer removed test were done .

Apparently this circuit in question shares the connector that allows/disallows the engine to start & run.

I really dislike when people dont give all the info they know at the very start.

Does anyone know the 16 pin-connector number in question ?

I have as yet to scan the illustration shoing its location.

Better verify the fuse # again

Maybe #45
No start or no crank?
is this 4x4 f250 with a v-10 manual or auto
