i started to fit the in bed splitter in the bed so that when my stacks come in, i can mount them on and then just hook up underneath. i have two chrome accuseal clamps i guess they are the ones that show, mount to the stacks themselves. i also have two more that are not chromed, that i guess mount the bed to the pipe somehow. there are also two wierd L shaped pieces with a stud with a flat end on one side and a nut that goes on the stud. i tried several ways of making it fit in there, and i had a semi-good one that did not use the L shaped pieces. i put the ends of the accuseal clamps out, so that the ends were pinched between the bed side and the pipe. however with a small hit it would move. i know it would not hold up to a 3' leverage above it. those with GrandRock stacks (PDP, BCD or similar) how did you get the stacks to stay tight to the bed?
My grand Rock stacks came with 2 different types of clamps to mount the stacks to the bed. I used the 2 chrome one's that mount on top of the front of the bed-lip. I did not use the non-chrome clamps with the L brackets; these are disigned to mount inside the bed on the side of the bed-lip. My gallery should show the mounts.
I went to Russell-do-it-center and bought chrome bolts for those chrome mounts. Remember that you only need to use one set of stack mounts. I'm guessing they sent 2 sets for people to choose either on-the bed mounting or in-the bed mounting.
It just hit me what you are asking, your wanting to know about where the Y-pipe goes through the bed. I wondered the same thing, so when I went and had my CCV pipe welded in I had them tack the Y-pipe to the bed from underneth (only about an inch on each side of the pipe).
However, some people pick-up some big U-bolts to mount the pipe to the bottom of the bed.
thanks for your help Rampage. however i did not get the bed lip mount that you mentioned, and that is what i would want of the two. i have no clue how to mount the tabs to the inside of the bed. i wasn't so much aiming at how to secure it to the bed floor, but i can tack it in there once i get it mounted to the sides.

You can goto 'Ask seller a question' and see if you can get those chrome mounts from him. Also, the mounts that you have are strange but if you put the clamp around the stack loosely and then slide one leg of the L-bracket in-between the stack and the clamp. The other leg of the L-bracket with the hole mounts against the side of the bed. Then cinch down on the clamp. I thought that was kinda flimzy so I used the thicker chrome mounts. I highly recommend them and this guy probably has the stacks your looking for as well. Hope this helps.
Kris, I just did my stacks today. It's the same kit that you've got for the y-pipe. Check out my webshots, I've got a gallery in there that should show some pretty good pictures, including the L-shaped brackets.
Edit: The "My Links" in my signature will take you to my webshots galleries.

thanks for the help, the pics really helped. i talked to Garrett and your pics are exactly what he said.
how do you like them? i was going to buy mine tonight and garret said he could beat the price i told him so i may get them from him if they are not backordered. i like how you cut the bed out larger so you could lower your splitter, do you think they are too high, those are 36" right? you roll any smoke yet?
I'll be starting a new thread here in a bit.....but, I think they're great. Fit was pretty good, but like you, I ran into some issues with poor instructions. They could have been clearer, but I obviously made it through. I got my system from eBay, which based on you saying yours from Garrett is a Grand Rock system, mine is identical to what you have.
I cut the bed out a little bigger than I needed to, but oh well. It had to be cut out a little larger for the pipe to lower in there. The "crush" clamp that holds the left and right side of the y-pipes together also goes through the floor of the bed to hold it all in there. So, you'll have to drill a couple more holes in there for the clamp to go down through.
Those are indeed 36" stacks. For my personal taste, the height is right where I wanted it. They just barely stick up above the cab. The top of the cab is right about in the middle of the mitre cut. I was afraid I might have to cut some off, but once I got the system mocked up in place, I left it alone.
Roll some smoke....you bet!! I got onto the highway and as I was pulling onto the entrance ramp, I looked in the rearview mirror. It was pretty cool to see those 2 trails of black behind me. They kind of come out, then down and behind the truck.
oh yeah. i know how you pull onto entrance ramps. the smoke going down is the tunnel effect of air movement behind you. so you can still smoke out cars? that is my only regret with stacks, not being able to shoot smoke in people's windows. im bad.
did the instructions tell you to put the clamp like that in the bed? the way yours looks, my personal preference is about 2-3" higher than what you have there. i want about 4" sticking up in the front of the stacks. and to do that, i would have to keep my 4" hole in the bed now and rest (maybe tack weld) the reducer from 5" to 4" on the bed floor so it stays up a little bit more than yours does. unlike you, i cannot cut 6" stacks because they bell down to 5". so i have to adjust the height by the splitter pipe. with the splitter pipe resting on the bed floor you can barely see the hole in the bed.
Yeah, I can still smoke out cars, just not as much as before. I used to use the smoke as an anti-tailgating tactic, but I don't know if it will still work. Time will tell.
The instructions did say to put the clamp though the bed. But, nothing says you have to do it like they say. Lord knows we're not afraid to modify something around here. I'd say that tack welding the reducer to the floor would hold it pretty good.
