Welcome benton!!!

benton's reason for becoming a member, "Because I live in Buffalo, love Ford Trucks (esp. my work in progress the 88 150 4x4), need all the help I can get because I'm not a mechanic and all my friends think I'm nuts!"

That about sums it up for most of us!! Welcome and post up things of interest for your fellow NY members or ask for help. That is what we are here for.

Welcome gomersinner!!

Gomer (as he prefers it) lives in (upstate) NY and is at a loss for finding good 'wheeling trails (hummm where I have heard this before). He also likes to help support legislation to reopen trails on state land (provisionally) and do what he can to kill legislation detrimental to us (check out the NY bill on banning grill/brush guards thread in the NY forum). Gomer drives a 1987 F-150 and "likes bending metal things to suit my whims". Humm interesting statement.

Welcome to the NY Chapter and FTE!!! Feel free to post up things of interest in the forum and we look forward to meeting you!!

Welcome xcquad466!!!

xcquad466 states that he "never joined a truck club before and love my truck" for his reasons for joining the NY Chapter. The chapter is not really considered a club, but I guess in some respects we are. xcquad466 is interested in atvs, trucks, GNCC racing and drives a 1997 F-250. Welcome cujo8!!!

cujo8 is from Williamson, NY (Western NY) and has a 1977 F-150. He is interested in auto restoration, music and golf. Great to see some of the members having the old iron. cujo8 I would like to see your truck some time as it brings back memories of my 1977 F-150 4x4 that I had before I got my SD. Good luck with the restoration!!

Feel free to post up things of interest and contribute to the threads in the NY Chapter. Glad to have you aboard!!

Thanks Darren for the warm welcome! I picked up my 77 F150 in the Spring from a friend of mine for $250 and I was only planning on doing some routine maintenance on this truck and use it as a work truck. During the routine maintenance of the 302 engine I discovered that the crank shaft had excessive end play and it turned out that the thrust bearing had worn a 1/8" grove into the crank. So rather than just replacing the crank and bearings I ended up rebuilding the whole engine. While I was at it, I thought I would replace the seals and gaskets on the C4 Tranny while I had it out of the truck and one thing led to another and I ended up rebuilding the whole tranny as well. Now that the engine and tranny looked so good I couldn't just throw it into that old dirty/rusty engine bay, so......I decided to do a frame-off restoration. Right now the cab and box are off of the frame and the frame is has been stripped and sandblasted. I will be priming and painting the frame soon and then begin putting the rolling chassis back together. Then its on to some body work on the cab and box and then get it all painted and put together. That last statement is lot easier said than done! Here's a link to some pictures of my project:

You are welcome cujo8 and "wow" on the work you have done. Looks very nice!! I know what you mean in that one thing leads into another and the next thing you are doing a complete frame off restoration!! My 1977 never got that far as it stayed a work truck. Some times I wish I had never sold that truck. Thanks for posting the link to your pictures!!

still trying to figure out the photo gallery thing, just had a friend over the other day and snapped a few shots. i'll have them up soon, don't expect anything too fancy though, haven't had the money or time for body, interior or paint, but everything else is new. i also have a 1966 f-100 i just picked up last week.
