You mean the time I disconnected the battery when I left town for a week, then blew the head gasket whil trying to pull my 5th wheel right after reconnecting it?

I find that mode9 data sometimes has weird module IDs if a tuner was being used, I acutally one time had one tell me I was working on a Scorpio...

The 4.5 uses new(er) electronics that has a log, date and time clock, and is apparently a real pain in the *** to reflash, and is supposed to be the electronics that the 6.4 is going to get. I don't know if they are doing this to try eliminate the use of programming... or if it's just a better system. Time will tell.
so can a module like the edge or banks 6 gun be traced in any way if it is physically removed from the truck??

Usually its only traceable physically, you have to be pretty sleuthy about it, since they know what to look for.

For instance, if there is a clean area where the tuning box used to be, they will probably figure it out.

Often, with those devices you need to tap into a MAP pressure feed somewhere, and it often involves drilling/tapping.
(Example, on an 06 Cummins you have to drill into the main intake tube).
However, when I was tuning them, I bought a backup from the dealer so the stock one would remain unmolested.

Who put this emoticon in here?

lol.

In anyway... if I ever blow a gasket, why would I let ford put the same stock gasket again for me to blow again?????

If I blown it once, then I must get some better gasket no?

And while at it, why not getting arp head studs???

Scenario:

I have the SuperChips economy tune loaded. I decide to reload the stock tune so that I can take it in for service. I then disconnect the battery to remove any traces of the programmer.
Why can't I then use the Flashpaq to erase the 2 codes that are left? How would the pcm know that I used the Flashpaq to erase these codes.

I erased the codes with my flashpaq but they came back right away. I had to drive a little then they cleared themselves.

Yep, that'll do it.

By the way, if you do an experiment on a stock truck, you'll get the same code without any tuner:

Shut the truck off, disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour or so.

Reconnect, startup and check the codes.
BAM! P1000 and P0603

No biggie......

My son tells of a customer who was a little peeved when his warranty work was disallowed. He just couldn't understand how he managed to generate excessive psi on the turbo and blow a head gasket.

Mine cleared from work to home, about 11 miles. Not sure exactly at what mileage it will clear though.

Turbos can fail and cause excessive boost just as they can fail and cause low boost.
