I have had Sirius for 2 years now and loved it before Howard came on and love it even more now!
Great variety of music and I can stream music or howard over the internet at work.
Very reliable, signal loss in tunnels and occasionally in very hilly, forested terrain, but only in summer and then only very briefly.
I would do it all over agin just for the football and hockey, too.

I would say get Sirius. Mostly the same except for sports.
Now personally I just switched to Sirius from XM. I don't get the 2 dead spots on the freeway I did with XM. I really like to content and channel stations with Sirius better to. Not realy a huge difference, but I just seem to like Sirius better. I also like the fact that I can drop the unit I have right onto a boombox or home kit whereas my old XM unit could not(but newer models can).
As far as Howard, I think he is an Idiot but Sirius was smart to get him as long as they don't go broke paying him. Nascar is also coming to XM in '07. Another no biggie for me but the stepdad likes it when we go places.
But whatever you do get a sattalite radio, never thought I would pay but going out to desert ride where a radio station is a wish, I love having it. Last ride I did all 4 families had it. 50/50 for service.

Lifetime subscriptoin...
Hey H20boy;
or anyone else for that matter. Sirius offers a liftime subscription offer for $499.99 ... What does do you think of that deal? They also offer to switch yor subscription to any 3 radio upgrades/changes for $75.00 Last time I looked that was not a part of the liftime subscrption so I'm wondering if that's the part of the offer that's only good til Jan 31, 2007?
I just figured it out it takes 3.5 yrs paying the yrly rate to equal the lifetime rate. Or 3.2 yrs paying the montly rate.
Only drawback I can see is if Sirius goes belly up in that 3.5 yrs or is sold to another company. Would they have to honor the liftime subscription contracts??

If history is a teacher, during and right after the christmas season, the deals abound. You could get a 3-mo. sub for now, and change it to a lifetime sub if a better deal comes.
Personally, I am not concerned about them going belly up. They are growing at an unbelievable rate, and really haven't even scratched the surface. The groundwork is now being laid for uses of these satellites other than radio, that boggle the mind, such as streaming video. The deal is cut with Ford for this, although with the shape Ford is in, who knows. Just imagine, all those minivans with DVD players will eventually have a DVD/satellite tv player!! The bandwidth is only there for a few channels as of now.
I doubt they will be bought out, although I'm not saying it couldn't happen. With Mel Karmazin (former clear channel) leading the Sirius helm, that hasn't been his mo in the past. They are constantly working at putting together working relationships with the companys that will be the technology of the future.
