I have a 95 PSD and I'm having problems with it. Sometimes it will run very rough at idle and you can speed up to about 3000 rpm and it lines out. Other times you can be going down the road and the check engine light comes on and it loses all power and won't run right at all. I'm thinking it might be the cps. I put the last cps on about 80000 miles ago. The pickup has 285000 miles on it.

 

Sounds like you're due for another cps. 80K is about right. Even if it doesn't fix your truck you'll have the peace of mind that you won't get stranded.

 

Doesn't sound like a cam sensor to me. Sunds more like an IPR or an injector wiring harness.
