tranny problems
my tranny is running on its last leg right now, it has been having problems for a while, a week ago i was hauling a load against the wind and it really got hot, has not recovered but i can drive it unloaded and it slips some and i have to give it some cool off time every once in a while, the fluid is burnt bad and i am wondering if i changed it if that would help it cool a little better?????? or will that just do it in permanently? i am going to get a new one in a week or 2 but am looking into a few different shops and ways to go, etc so i would like to keep it going another week or 2 if possible

If you only need it to last a couple weeks don't change it. Many tranny's have failed after changing fluids after a long period. It seems all the crud in the fluid keeps the thing together. I would leave it alone and get a BTS, with a 6.0 tranny cooler and good temp gauge.
