Brake problem??

Hey guys. Wanted to see if anyone had an idea about what my brake problem is. Did a search and couldn't find anything. After installing my lift kit and larger tires a few months ago I noticed the first time I drove the truck that when you depress the brake pedal it has a slight detent feeling. Hopefully you know what a detent is as I really don't know how to describe it. The truck can be on or off and just as you start to depress it is hangs for a second and then pops past the problem.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Did you have to add longer brake lines after you installed the lift? If so, you may have air in the lines. Maybe bleeding the brakes is in order?

After the lift installed, did you make certain nothing was binding.

Hope this helps...some. Maybe some FTE folks with more info...will post.

No longer brake lines installed. It actually feels like it is in the pedal assy. It happens when you first depress it, like where the slop would be before the brakes actually would start doing something. The brake pads and the rest of the system do not have any pressure yet. Thanks for the reply.

Did you make any brake mods during the lift at all?

If not, then my "guess" would be some where in the mechanical linkage.

Do you have the adjsutable pedals? If so, try a few different spots in the adjustments and see if it helps.

Otherwise, I'd start looking or something that may need a little graphite lube or other lube of choice.

Yea, actually I do have the adjustable pedals. I never move them so I will try that tomorrow and pull the panel and look for anything obvious. Hate to take it in if I don't have too.

Thanks
